Date of Commissioning: 19-Apr-2008
ConCall of the Region 3 Staff.
All Staff are invited to chit chat about all that’s going on, especially awards and upcoming Summit.
Go the sfi database and enter them.
Dear Region 3 Members: If someone you know deserves a promotion AND they are going to be at Region 3 Summit in Lubbock June 10-12 or at the International Conference (“IC”) in the Poconos, PA, August 12-14, then please submit your promotion request to the appropriate channels by:
–For R3 Summit, promotions need to be submitted by May 1.
–For IC, promotions need to be submitted by July 2.
1. Your chapter may have their own promotions procedures up to O-5
Commander/Lt. Colonel, but if you want promotion certificates made by
Fleet, please send the request from the Chapter’s CO to Fleet Member
Recognition at recognition@sfi.org with all the specifics, and do so
by the above due date(s) to allow them to mail them to you or to me in
time for the event. Please also email me to let me know if you expect
them so the presentation can be placed on the Agenda at Summit or IC.
2. For promotions to O-6 Captain/Colonel, submit them to the me using
the Region’s promotions form found at:
http://www.region3.org/promotion/ Note: Time in grade is not enough
to get an O-6 Promotion. (This form is also used for Unassigned
Region 3 Members, see No. 4, below.)
3. For Flag Promotions O-7 Fleet Captain/Brigadier and above up to
Fleet Admiral, please see the SFI website at:
http://promotions.sfi.org. Also, please review the Flag Promotion
Criteria and all that is required on the form BEFORE you begin to fill
it out. Note: Time in grade is not enough to get a Flag Promotion.
4. If you know an Unassigned member who deserves a promotion, No. 1 above doesn’t apply to them, because the RC handles all promotions of Unassigned members from Crewman Recruit up to Captain/Colonel. So, use the promotion form on the Region’s site for No. 2. Or for flag
promotions of Unassigned members, please follow steps in No. 3.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Take care,
reed
PS–If your person isn’t going to be at Summit or IC, then they can
still be promoted at your chapter event or it can be mailed to them at
any time. There isn’t a due date in this case.
