Greetings Region 3/Third Brigade,
As many of you know, I am Lieutenant General Aaron Murphy. What most don’t know is that I am the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of the newly formed 323rd Logistical Studies Group based aboard Ark Angel Station. We are Support unit for Marine operations near the Neutral Zone. As our motto states, our focus is making things happen “Anything, Anywhere, Anytime”.
With this in mind, we would like to invite all personnel to Ft. Worth for the Air Power Expo 2011 on 16-17 Apr 11. The airshow is free to the public and will be held on NAS (Naval Air Station) Fort Worth JRB (Joint Reserve Base). The premiere draw for this event will be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels!
I’ve seen this team before live (at this base, actually) and they always put on a great show. Other performers include Para-Commandos, the Red Eagles, and several military demos. Also available will be static displays of many of the aircrafts in the U.S. military arsenal, as well as trainers and vintage aircrafts. This should be an outstanding show as the U.S. Navy celebrates their Centennial of Naval Aviation.
Admission to the show is free (see, I used the magic word). So is parking, although you can’t fly your own plane on to the base *smirk*. The gates will open at 09:00 CST, with aerial performances kicking off at 11:00. I currently plan on using Golden Corral Buffet & Grill (3517 Alta Mere Drive, Fort Worth, TX) as a rally point in the morning for breakfast before the show. I will post more details on this to the R3 and 3BDE mailing list as the event gets closer. As for lodging, there are several hotels within minutes of the base. These include Comfort Suites (6851 West Freeway, Fort Worth, TX) which is a STARFLEET discount hotel, La Quinta Inn Fort Worth West Medical Center (7888 I-30 West, White Settlement, TX), and Holiday Inn Express (2730 South Cherry Lane, Fort Worth, TX).
For more information on the Air Power Expo 2011, go to
http://airpowerexpo.com/ (the FAQ is a must-read!) and keep an eye on a list near you for more specifics as they become available.
The Zone Leaders and the RC will get together to discuss all things Zone. We may ask ShOC as well.
CoS and VRC are optional, but welcome, too.
Set your own reminders, people.

Recognition at recognition@sfi.org with all the specifics, and do so
by the above due date(s) to allow them to mail them to you or to me in
time for the event. Please also email me to let me know if you expect
them so the presentation can be placed on the Agenda at Summit or IC.
2. For promotions to O-6 Captain/Colonel, submit them to the me using
the Region’s promotions form found at:
