The 301st Marine Strike Group – A.K.A. “Strike Group Cerberus, is a proud unit of the STARFLEET Marine Corps, and attached to the USS Battle Born.
301st
The 301st stared as a Marin Expeditionary Unit on 8 September 2009 - beginning the next 'chapter' of SFI involvement for many of us. It was with the new Star Trek Movie that came out that year, that several former crew of the USS Battle Born (not a live club in SFI at that time) were inspired to come back together and see where where things went. The rough idea was a hit, and soon the MEU had enough people to start up a full chapter - resurrecting the USS Battle Born.
When the Battle Born was launched as a chapter (19 July 2010), the Marine unit changed from an MEU, to a Marine Strike Group (MSG) - attached to the chapter.
Starting as an independent unit, and growing it's own 'parent chapter' around it, Strike Group Cerberus remains a critical core of the USS Battle Born.

- 2375 - 301st MEU Data warfare assets were assigned to infiltrate the Kelvas Repair Facility network, in an effort to gain more information on this weapon. While unable to gain technical data on the weapon this way, they were able to map the facility for the team that eventually went in physically, as well as provide cover for their departure.
- 2376 - 301st MEU Aerospace assets were patrolling the Chin'toka system, and came across the wreckage of the USS Battle Born. With so many ships lost during the Dominion war, it was hauled back to Starbase 3 for refit and repair.
- 2377 - Rebuilt and updated as much as was feasible, the USS Battle Born launched on an initial 5 year mission under Colonel Jeremy Carsten. The 301st, now MSG, is assigned. Served in various missions with 3rd Fleet and in support of SFMC 3rd Brigade.
- 2384 - 301st MSG mission profile is updated, along with latest refit of the USS Battle Born. Still a Combined Arms unit, the mission is now Aerospace Superiority, Infantry (with organic transport and air support) and Combat Engineers.
- 2399 - Due for another refit, the USS Battle Born continued patrolling as part of 3rd Fleet. The 301st, likewise has some dated equipment, but is still often called to be first on scene when trouble arises.
